Two separate things: support for individual authors preparing their work, and publishing services for journals and institutions.
For researchers preparing a manuscript for submission anywhere — not only to our own journals. All four are concerned with how existing work is expressed and presented, never with producing the research or the argument itself.
Correction of grammar, spelling, punctuation, tense and word choice, and improvements to sentence structure and readability for authors writing in English as an additional language.
We edit what you have written. We do not add results, arguments, citations or discussion, and we do not change the scientific meaning of your text.
Reformatting a finished manuscript to a target journal's instructions for authors: headings, word limits, reference style, table and figure placement, and the required declaration sections.
This is a presentational service. The content remains entirely yours.
Redrawing figures to publication quality, setting resolution, fonts, colour and labelling to a journal's specification, and laying out tables consistently.
We work from the data and figures you supply. We do not generate, alter, enhance or reconstruct data, and we will not make any change to an image that would misrepresent what it shows.
Translation of scholarly text between Arabic and English by translators familiar with academic and medical terminology, followed by a language edit of the translated text.
Translation is of your text as written; we do not add or remove substance in the process.
For learned societies, university departments, research institutes and conference organisers who want to publish but do not want to build and run the infrastructure themselves. These services are sold to organisations, not to authors, and have no connection to editorial decisions at any journal — ours or yours.
We host and run the publishing platform for your journal so your editors can concentrate on the scholarly work: submission and peer-review workflow, user accounts, issue assembly, copy-editing and typesetting, DOI registration, and the technical side of metadata and archiving.
Your editorial board keeps full editorial control. We do not take part in your decisions, and we have no claim on your title.
Copy-editing, typesetting, proof management and XML production for journals that have editorial capacity but not production capacity. We can take over a backlog, or work issue by issue.
Publication of abstract books and full proceedings for academic conferences: collection and formatting of submissions, a citable volume with DOIs, and continuing hosting so the proceedings remain available after the event.
Proceedings are published with DOIs rather than an ISBN. If you need a printed volume with an ISBN, that belongs to our book imprint, which is still being established.
Editorial and production support for scholarly books, edited volumes and monographs — manuscript assessment, copy-editing, typesetting and proof management.
We work on books that you issue under your own imprint and ISBN. Our own imprint is separate and still being established — see book publishing.
Technical and documentary preparation for an indexing application: clean and complete Crossref metadata, DOI coverage, an OAI-PMH feed, a long-term preservation arrangement, and a review of your public policies against what DOAJ, Scopus and Web of Science actually ask for.
What this is not: we cannot get a journal indexed, and nobody can. Indexing services decide on their own criteria, and anyone who promises you inclusion is selling something they cannot deliver. What we do is make sure an application is not rejected for reasons that were within your control.
Making published work findable: complete and correct metadata deposit, structured data for search engines and Google Scholar, repository deposit, and announcement of new issues to relevant readerships.
This is about discoverability of work already published. It does not involve buying citations, metrics, or placement of any kind.
We are a publisher, and some services commonly sold alongside editing would compromise that. We do not offer, and will decline requests for:
For author services, send the manuscript or the section you want help with, the target journal if you have one, and your deadline. For publishing services, tell us about the journal, book or conference and what you need taken on. Either way we reply with a price and a timescale before any work begins.
We quote per project rather than publishing a price list, because the work varies so much with the length and state of a manuscript. A quote is free and carries no obligation.
