Agreement & Documentation

Upon approval, the following formalities must be completed to finalize the partnership:

  1. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between RES and the journal’s managing entity. This agreement will outline roles, responsibilities, publishing rights, and quality expectations.
  2. ISSN and Ownership Verification
The journal is required to submit:
    • Valid ISSN registration details (Print/Online)
    • Official proof of ownership or publishing rights
These documents are essential to ensure transparency, legal recognition, and operational clarity.

Editorial Board & Peer Review

To maintain high academic and ethical standards, all partner journals are expected to meet the following requirements:

  1. Qualified Editorial Board
The journal must have an active and diverse editorial board comprising scholars and experts with verifiable academic and/or professional credentials relevant to the journal’s scope. Editorial members should be clearly listed on the journal’s official website with affiliations.
  2. Transparent Peer Review Process
A clearly defined and standardized peer-review policy must be in place. Accepted review models include:

    • Timely review timelines
    • Clear criteria for manuscript acceptance or rejection
Journals must also maintain documentation of all peer-review decisions to ensure transparency and traceability.

Ethical Compliance

At RES, we uphold the highest standards of academic and research integrity. All partner journals are required to fully comply with international ethical publishing guidelines.

  1. Commitment to Publishing Ethics
Journals must demonstrate adherence to ethical principles in all aspects of the publishing process, including:
    • Proper citation and referencing of sources
    • Clear disclosure of conflicts of interest by authors, editors, and reviewers
    • Compliance with recognized standards for ethical research involving humans, animals, or sensitive data
  2. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct
    Any instances of:
    • Plagiarism
    • Data fabrication or falsification
    • Duplicate publication
    • Other forms of research misconduct
must be reported to RES immediately. All journals are expected to have clear internal policies for detecting, handling, and documenting such violations.

RES reserves the right to suspend or terminate collaboration with any journal found to be in breach of these ethical standards.

Publication Infrastructure

  1. Hosting, Digital Archiving, and DOI Registration
RES may offer comprehensive digital services for affiliated journals, including:
    • Hosting: Reliable and secure web hosting to ensure that journal content is readily accessible worldwide.
    • Digital Archiving: Long-term preservation of published content through robust digital archiving solutions.
    • DOI Registration: Assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to individual articles to enhance discoverability and citation tracking.
  2. Indexing and Visibility
Journals are strongly encouraged to apply for indexing in major international databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed. Achieving indexing status will significantly enhance the visibility and credibility of the journal while broadening its academic impact.

Open Access & Copyright Policies

  1. Publishing Models
Affiliated journals may select from the following publishing models based on their objectives and audience:
    • Open Access: Articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide, increasing visibility, citation, and knowledge sharing.
    • Subscription-Based: Content is accessible through institutional or individual subscriptions, with optional embargo periods for open access.
  2. Author Copyright & Licensing
RES supports a progressive copyright policy that empowers authors. Authors should:
    • Retain full copyright over their published work
    • Grant the journal a non-exclusive publishing license to distribute, archive, and promote the work
    • Select an appropriate Creative Commons license for open-access publications (e.g., CC BY, CC BY-NC)
This model ensures that intellectual property remains with the authors while maintaining wide dissemination and compliance with funding agency requirements.

ISSN & DOI Assignment

  1. ISSN Requirement
All affiliated journals must have a valid ISSN (International Standard Serial Number)—either for print, online, or both formats. This ensures international recognition, cataloging, and indexing eligibility.
  2. DOI Registration Support
RES offers assistance in obtaining Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for individual articles and journal issues.
    • DOIs enable permanent linking, citation tracking, and metadata integration across scholarly platforms.
    • DOI services are managed through trusted registration agencies such as CrossRef.
Journals without current DOI infrastructure are encouraged to collaborate with RES to establish this essential digital identity system.

  2. Journal Branding & Web Presence
    Partner journals are expected to:
    • Maintain a high-quality, user-friendly website with clear and updated information (aim, scope, editorial board, submission guidelines, etc.)
    • Ensure consistency in branding, logos, formatting, and digital identity across platforms
    • Regularly update published issues, announcements, and author guidelines to reflect professionalism and transparency
A strong digital presence plays a crucial role in discoverability, author trust, and potential indexing opportunities.
